Embracing Me Time: Lessons from Kate Middleton’s Health Journey

Kate Middleton is doing what she needs to do for Kate.

There’s a very low chance that any of us will be the Princess of England, become famous with 24/7 paparazzi, or have the majority of our work dedicated to volunteer opportunities without pay.

Besides, being in the limelight comes with much responsibility and scrutiny.

After a lot of speculation, rumors, and conspiracy theories about her being missing in action, Kate Middleton revealed in March that she was diagnosed with cancer and will not be sharing the type of cancer it is. She has been going through chemotherapy, spending a lot of time with family, and being out and about on “solo” errand runs.

After some time away from the public eye, she has returned to state that she might attend one event this year and hopes everyone will respect her privacy.

“I am told that Kate’s diary for this year is empty,” the insider told the publication. “There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year.” – Women’s Health Magazine

Why does this matter, and what effect does it have on you? You ask. Probably not much. Although there is little in common with the English royal, there are some things we can take away …

This is for someone.

  1. Let them talk—Understand that negative comments often reflect more about the person making them than about you. Practice tuning out the noise and focusing on constructive feedback to protect your mental health.
    ?
  2. Know what’s important—With many responsibilities, it can be challenging to prioritize yourself. However, showing up for yourself is just as important as showing up for others.
    ?
  3. Take the time—You might be going through a season where isolation and me time are imperative. Embrace it and maintain your peace. Allow yourself the space to breathe, grow, and heal.

At the end of the day, we need to do what’s best for our well-being, no matter what responsibilities we have on our plate.

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

Wishing you all happiness, relaxation, and good health.
