How to have Peace in your Life with a Busy Schedule

My friend from London, whom I met after being quarantined together in Dubai for 10 days (story for another day ?), asked me how I managed everything with a busy schedule.
?
I had to take a minute to think about it before responding because, not too long ago, I found myself drowning in to-dos and overwhelmed by all the tasks the day had for me.

With work, family, and house obligations, there usually isn’t time to relax or be still for just a minute. You find yourself wanting to be all things to everyone, especially when work carries over into personal time.

I call it the Doing the Most Club.

We’re all guilty of it. We do everything for everyone else but ourselves.

How to Find Peace of Mind and Happiness Quotes

In a practical sense, protecting your energy and time is key. Here are four simple steps to help …
    ?
?1. One goal a day: Give yourself one goal to accomplish for the day.

Start by identifying a single, achievable goal each day that aligns with your priorities and values. Break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps to prevent overwhelm.

This small effort makes progress towards the larger goal every day. Feeling overwhelmed can lead to burnout and a decrease in productivity.

A little progress each day adds up to big results.

?2. Automate: Use tools that automate your life. Try not to immediately reply to emails or messages at work unless they are urgent.

Leveraging technology to streamline tasks and reduce mental clutter. Utilize app schedule features and filters to delay delivery and narrow down important correspondents, allowing areas and space to take your time.

Identify repetitive or time-consuming activities that can be automated, such as email filtering, bill payments, or scheduling appointments. Implement digital tools and systems, such as task management apps, calendar reminders, or smart home devices, to automate these processes and free up mental space.

    Automate processes wherever you can.

?3. Help at home: Seek help from others or services, delegating tasks to trusted individuals or professional services.

Identify areas where you can benefit from assistance, such as housekeeping, childcare, or meal preparation. Communicate your needs clearly and establish expectations with those providing help.

On days I don’t feel like cooking, we order weekly ready-to-eat meals from CookUnity(chef kiss). I also have a housekeeper who comes every other month to clean to offset house chores that need to be done, like dusting the blinds, which gives me back some of my time.

Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.

?4. Let things go—Avoid striving for perfection or adopting a superwoman mindset, and give yourself grace for not checking all the boxes on the list.

If you get a request that you’re on the fence about and don’t get excited, just say no. Let it go if something doesn’t serve you or add to the peace in your life.

In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.
