Tyra Banks is the dream queen or rather ice cream queen.
Growing up Tyra Banks didn’t want to be in front of the camera, her dreams were always to be behind the camera to produce and write.
She felt awkward and uncomfortable in her own skin.
Though the idea to pursue modeling was even a challenge because of the naysayers plus deciding if she should go the traditional and “safer” route of college.
Her mother told her …
“Go figure out what you need to know to give yourself the competitive advantage and make this amazing opportunity a success”.
Translation: “Girl, go own that runway and prove them wrong!”
To make a long story short, she had overcome her fears of awkwardness to become one of the most sought after models of her time by learning as much as she could about the industry and pounding the pavement.
She’s had a number of titles throughout her career from super-model to show host to producer, with a resume longer than a grocery store receipt.

Though her story doesn’t end with the catwalk and Dancing with the Stars.
More recently she was in D.C. to launch her new adventure SmiZe and Dream, a pop-up ice cream shop.
And this isn’t just any ice cream; it has a truffle embedded within each scoop. It’s as if Willy Wonka’s factory and a chocolate truffle farm had a baby.
Dangerous!
With shops already in Los Angeles, Dubai and DC she wants to expand to Australia and Asia, to connect people and cultures around the world.
And more importantly it’s a program to encourage girls to “smize” or smile with their eyes, and dream big.
The school will teach kids about entrepreneurship and to become leaders of tomorrow.
It means that Tyra is not just going to be delivering scoops to people. She is also setting up an “ice cream school” SMiZe & DREAM, a fun, dream company that empowers and educates youth about the ice-cream industry, from production to sales.
So forget Harvard, imagine a place where your homework is taste-testing and learning about business on a world scale.
